A Cationic Monomer, Quat 188, a product of The Great UnionTech Company,is an aqueous
solution of N-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) trimethylammonium chloride. It is an effective
cationic monomer used to modify natural and synthetic polymers to produce quaternary
ammonium compounds with a broad array of end uses.
The main Application:
1.Paper Chemicals
Cationic reagent is an important additive in paper industry, widely used in starch, cellulose,
chitosan and other chemical modification. The cationic starch modified by cationic reagent can
be used as paper surface sizing, retention and drainage aids, enhancers etc., is a kind of largely
consumed papermaking additive.
2.Textile Industry
(3 - chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) trimethyl ammonium chloride modified cotton fibers, improves
its adhesion to the dye; the cationic starch can be used as warp sizing agent after reaction of
starch.
