1. usage

AKD wax is obtained from higher fatty acids (C>12) which is via acylation and dehydrochlorination.
So this product has excellent water resistance performance as the alkyl chain of higher fatty acids. 
As a basic sizing agent, AKD has been widely used in the paper-making industry as an emulsion.
By now AKD wax can be used as pulp sizing and surface sizing for many kinds of paper such as cultural paper paperboard newsprint paper board fruit bag paper and wrapping paper.

1 The optimum PH of AKD wax sizing is 7.5-8.5 - a neutral condition that is more environmentally friendly than rosin (acidic sizing agent). So AKD wax has been gradually replacing rosin.
2 AKD sizing can improve the strength and whiteness of the paper and can keep a good effect for a long time.
3 alkaline fillers can be added for paper making such as calcium carbonate.
4 As neutral sizing it has less corrosion to the machine and alkaline filler can be added for paper making such as calcium carbonate.
